Why I Started Blogging About Nepal: A Journey of Discovering and Promoting My Homeland

January 24, 2023

When I first decided to start blogging about Nepal, I had a plethora of reasons and motivations. I have had the privilege of traveling extensively throughout my homeland, and I have had the opportunity to experience Nepal from many different angles. As a tour leader, trekking guide, tourist guide, teacher, factory worker, and lawyer, I have had the opportunity to see Nepal from many different perspectives. Growing up, my parents were farmers, and I have always had a deep connection to the land and the people of Nepal. I have always been fascinated by the diversity of the country, from its culture and religions to its geography and politics.

One of the main reasons I decided to start blogging about Nepal is to promote tourism. Nepal is a beautiful country with so much to offer, from the bustling streets of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur, to the breathtaking mountain ranges of the Himalayas. The country is home to 8 of the 14 highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest, which is the tallest mountain on earth. This natural beauty is the main reason why people from all over the world come to Nepal. Trekking, hiking, peak climbing, jungle safari, and many more are the major activities that visitors can do. The culture, religions, and festivals are other reasons why Nepal is an attractive destination. The diverse culture and religions that coexist in Nepal make it a melting pot of different customs, traditions, and languages. Visitors can experience the grandeur of the Dashain festival, the colorful Holi festival, and the religious Tihar festival, to name a few. Furthermore, Kathmandu, the capital city is known as the "Gateway to the Himalayas," and is a melting pot of different cultures and religions. The city is home to over a thousand temples and shrines, each with its own distinct architectural style and religious significance. The most famous of these is the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world. Additionally, the city of Patan and Bhaktapur are two ancient cities that are known for their rich cultural heritage, traditional art, and architecture.

But Nepal is not just about culture and ethnicity, it's also a country of incredible natural beauty. Another reason I started blogging about Nepal is to shed light on some of the challenges the country is facing. Despite the many natural and cultural wonders that Nepal has to offer, it is still a country that is facing many issues. From political instability, corruption, and lack of good governance to the lack of education, economic opportunities, and healthcare, there are many problems that need to be addressed. These issues, if not addressed, can discourage the tourism and development of Nepal, and it's my duty to raise awareness about these issues and contribute to finding solutions. I believe that by sharing my experiences, insights, and research on these issues, I can help bring attention to them and start a conversation about how to address them.

Furthermore, Nepal is a country that is known for its geographical politics, the country is divided into different regions, and each region has its own set of problems and issues. As I traveled and worked in different parts of Nepal, I came to understand that these issues are interlinked and that it's essential to have a holistic approach to solving them. Through my blog, I want to share my experiences, insights, and research on the different issues that each region is facing and how they can be addressed.
Lastly, I started blogging about Nepal to document my own journey of discovery and growth. I have grown and changed so much during my time in Nepal, and I wanted to have a platform to share my experiences and reflect on my journey. I believe that by sharing my journey, I can inspire others to follow their dreams and pursue their passions, regardless of where they come from or what obstacles they may face.

In conclusion, I started blogging about Nepal because of my deep love and connection to the country. I want to share my experiences and insights with others and help promote Nepal as a destination for tourism, and to raise awareness about the challenges the country is facing. I believe that by sharing my journey, I can contribute to making Nepal a better place for all. I hope that my blog will serve as a source of inspiration and guidance for others who are interested in discovering and promoting Nepal and that it will help to bring attention to the many issues facing the country, and encourage others to take action to address them.
